Almost 10 years after our darling girl left us, Jimmy Keane has graciously re-instated her website. My heart is bursting with gratitude ....and I ask all who knew and loved her to bring it alive and update it with your memories and pictures of her that we might, even now, fill in some of the many gaps in her short but vibrant life. Her music lives on in her two lads, Oliver and Anders who are now students in Glasgow. Her childhood home on Penpont is still there to welcome all who wish to bide a while. Maybe a Ceilidh on top of Tyron Doon in May will have her smiling down on yet another 'Gwen's Gathering'.I'm game!!! xxx

Gwen is really a beautiful soul. and i even sensed something when i was there at your home. She was a graceful and beautiful girl. I hope you are still connected with her Maggie and may God bless her soul.
She used to play really well; i have just started learning violin too from my class fellow Memoona.
Love & Light for you.
Warm regards,
Raheel

Thank you Raheel... and good luck with your playing. I look forward to hearing it one day in person. I'm sure Pakistan would appreciate a few Scottish reels! Love and Peace...Maggi

I never met or knew Gwen but I feel her presents through Maggi writings and through her brothers music.
Gwen lives on in Maggi's soul.

Although I never had the fortune to meet Gwen in person, through Maggie's descriptions and anecdotes I came to appreciate what a wonderful daughter she was and how sorely she must be missed by all those who knew her. It's lovely to see that she is still being remembered.
Best wishes from Japan,
Andy

Oliver has made it as far as Japan as you know Andy... and he loved it! They seem to have an affinity with all things Scottish but little appreciation of a Celt in a Bearskin and full Highland Regalia piping for 6 hours non-stop in the Japanese sun! Thank you for your kind thoughts Andy ...I have heard from Yarrob and he is well! xxx

She might even trip you up on 'this side' Nikki! I have felt her presence very strongly every time I meet you. No doubt, one old Soul recognising another ..... and the 'Work' that has to continue on all levels, no matter what plane we are currently 'occupying'. Mair power tae yer elbow Hen! xxx

Meeting Gwen, was like rediscovering a very dear friend you have always known, but didn't realise was missing until you met each other again. How close to my heart she will always be, as only friends who come together at the right time and place for one another can be. Tynron worked its magic that summer, sometimes I would find Gwen sitting quietly in the garden and at others she would come to the house and we would drink tea, chat and enjoy being in each others company. Before leaving Scotland for Chicago Gwen and I were in the garden saying our goodbyes to each other. The very last words she said to me were 'It will be a long time before we see each other again' 'Maybe, it's ten years closer now' Terry

My times spent with Gwennie at Kev & Gill's in Tynron will always remain very special. These were great days; good music; good singing and most of all the 'F' word was never missing (FUN). Too many of the people who I shared this special time with are no longer with us.

Aye Elaine...I remember them well. Both Gill and Kev were like secondary parents to Gwen when I was off the Planet! He was such an inspiration to her music and is a great loss the the whole folk scene of the area. I imagine them kicking up quite a shindig with some of the other major players who left us for a bigger stage! I can hear then now! xxx

What a beautiful, beautiful soul you are Gwen. Though I did not "know you" in this lifetime, through this lovely tribute memorial by your beloved brother Paul, I feel as though I have a wee glimpse into your life and all the love and gifts that obviously were the hallmark of your life here. Thank you for all that you are and all that you left behind that continues to shine bright in the lives of others yet here. Shine on, beautiful Love Light!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this sharing Julie. It is a consolation to know that Gwen still touches others in wonderful ways. Some of them are coming to Scotland next week when we will laugh, cry, sing, dance and play in her memory. I will include you in that throng. Many Blessings to you xxx

Wow...In some ways it doesn't seem like it could be ten years and in others it feels like forever. I remember Gwen covered in mud after a particularly rainy bike ride through woods and naying like a horse and stomping her foot when she didn't get her way:) Miss her so!

I can see and hear her through your memories Richard. She was more horse than human much of the time and certainly a force to be reckoned with! That was our Nell! Bless you for your contribution xxx

Eternity

He who binds to himself a joy
Does the wing'ed life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sun rise.

We all kissed her on her flight. We cherish the flights we shared with you Gwen. Love you always, Kim

I took fiddle lessons from Gwen in Biloxi, MS when she was touring with a LOTD troupe. To this day, that time in my life is one I hold very dear to my heart. She was a true inspiration to me. I feel so incredibly blessed to have known her.

Thank you dear Mercy. You have made my day! Gwen had a big and generous heart and loved sharing the Gift she was given...... a true love of music that transcends all the barriers of language and culture and connects us all in true harmony... if we let it! Continue to 'know' her every time you pick up your fiddle.

Thank you for giving her your time and attention Stefan. I never cease to be amazed, ten years on, how Gwen's 'life' continues to touch and affect others in ways I could never imagine. In many ways, she was larger than life and perhaps she needed to be freed of the limitations of her human identity, in order to live more fully.

I never met Gwen I never knew her in her physical life. I have got to know this bright light of a lassie through her mum..Maggi Sale. Through Maggi's words and deep joy of remembering Gwen and all she did in her life has been enriching and beautiful. I feel a kinship with Gwen through her love of horses and every time I see one I think of Gwen. So gallop on sweet sister..love and joy you continue to spread. Peace and Love to all.
